Certification in Neck Ultrasound

We want to update you on some exciting changes AACE has made which will transform the ECNU certification program to better meet the needs of ECNU certified physicians:

ECNU Program

The AACE Board of Directors acted to address the issue of recertification for currently ECNU certified physicians. What does this mean for you? It means that going forward, all currently certified ECNU physicians will NOT need to complete the recertification application process. Over the next several months AACE will be sending all currently certified ECNU physicians updated ECNU certificates with NO expiration dates. All ECNU applications received and completed for initial certification in 2019 will be reviewed and processed in the next few months, and certificates will also be sent to those physicians upon final approval.

The AACE Thyroid Education Task Force is in the process of evaluating advanced neck ultrasound education and skills training needs to ensure competency in providing the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Thyroid Education

AACE continues to support, and strives to offer, high quality thyroid education and advanced thyroid education. The February 2020 session of Endocrine University will offer thyroid ultrasound training to year 1 fellows in attendance. In addition, the pre-congress workshop “AACE/ACE Endocrine Neck Ultrasound 2020: Hands-On Approach” will be held May 6 prior to EMBRAACE 2020. You can view the program and register here: http://2020.aace.com/program/pre-congress. Other new advanced educational offerings are in discussion by the Thyroid Education Task Force.

We are excited about this transformation as we continue to build an organization poised to meet the needs of our members and endocrine community in even more meaningful ways going forward.
